People First of Canada
People First of Canada partnered with Lenz Films to create a powerful video series that challenges stereotypes and advocates for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their goal was to authentically depict the everyday lives of individuals with disabilities, showing that they can lead fulfilling, independent lives like anyone else.
Our project centered on Doolin, an Indian woman with Down syndrome, capturing her life as a dancer, worker, and someone who enjoys cooking with her mother. Through close collaboration with Doolin and her family, we created a video that highlights her abilities and passions, demonstrating her independence and joy. This impactful video helped break down barriers, inspiring others with disabilities to embrace their full potential.
A Shared Experience
Lenz Films partnered with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) to create a powerful video highlighting the board’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Through collaborative consultations, we captured authentic stories from students in grades 7 and 8, focusing on race, gender, and identity. The final product is a meaningful and emotionally resonant video, showcasing the importance of fostering a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
